- Harsh chemicals or bleach can damage, this can be repaired.
Polyester/PET
- Can be recycled, is eco-friendly
- Luxurious feel
- Inherently stain resistant
- Sheds water
- Budget friendly priced
- Not recommended in extremely high traffic areas
- Difficult to clean/remove dirt and oils
- Low crush resistance.
Polypropylene/PTE /Olefin
- Popular in Berber carpets, looks like wool fibers
- Naturally stain and mildew resistant
- Lower cost
- Sheds water
- Difficult to clean/remove dirt and oils
- Low crush resistance.
Triexta Polyester/PTT/Smartstrand
- Newer carpet fiber, new and improved PET/PTE fiber
- Softer texture than PET or PTE
- Longer lasting than PET or PTE
- More crush resistant than PET/PTE
- Sheds water
- Eco friendly
- Easer to clean but still holds dirt and oil easier than a nylon
